Trout is a young lady I've met before. Her folks commissioned me to do a couple of pen &ink drawings of her when she was just a pup. Such an expressive face and such a poser!
For many years after graduating from the Ontario College of Art my career was in Advertising. I was employed by publishers, printers, and ad agencies as well as being an in-house artist at a select set of businesses. I enjoyed working as a designer and illustrator, but as my career advanced, drawing slowly faded from the forefront, my focus being a steady paycheque. Some employers really had no idea that I could paint or for that matter, even draw. On vacation one summer, I decided to see if freelancing could be an option. Maybe get to do the kind of art I loved. I acquired a few projects, quit my full-time position and another phase of my life had begun.
